Steps for registering a new boat in Asturias
Here’s a step-by-step guide to registering a boat. This process involves entering the vessel in the Register of Ships, where all recreational craft must be registered.

To register a new boat, simply follow these steps and submit the following documents to the Harbour Master’s Office:

In this application, you must specify the navigation area; if the chosen navigation area is more than 5 miles, you will be required to have a VHF radio with DSC. You will
therefore need to obtain an MMSI (Marine Mobile Service Identity) and a VHF licence (LEB). To do this, you must follow these steps:

Flag-raising on ships
If a vessel comes from another country or is newly built, it must also undergo the flagging process, which is the administrative procedure by which it is granted permission to fly the national flag.
These procedures are ongoing, unless significant changes or modifications are made to your boat.
